I became an MFR therapist to help you have relief from heavy, painful menstrual cycles and decrease your bladder problems so you don’t wet yourself every time you cough, laugh, run, or jump.

Hi, I’m Cassandra Sohn. I’m a trained Myofascial Release (MFR) therapist here to help you find lasting relief from pelvic floor challenges such as pain, menstrual problems, and bladder issues, and to help your lower back pain go away.

“I have been rid of lower back pain.”

“I first tried MFR about 10 years ago. I had just had my second baby and was suffering from chronic back pain. I had a pretty large diastasis recti after having children. I delivered via c-section both times. Once I started MFR, there was work done on my scar, lower back, and hips.  I felt relief almost immediately. I kept using MFR over the years for different aches and pains. At some point my first therapist recommended I see you for internal work that she felt would be beneficial. I was still dealing with chronic back pain. Over the years I’ve tried regular massage, PT, and chiropractic care.

Since seeing you, I have been rid of lower back pain.  I feel no pain when I get out of bed in the morning.  Before, my right hip always ached in the mornings and worsened depending on my activity. I also noticed I didn’t feel any pain when going from standing to sitting or vice versa. In the gym, I have been able to engage more muscles properly, allowing me to lift heavier weight and build strength.

Trying internal work made me feel hesitant, but my desire to feel no more pain in my lower back was greater. The actual experience was surprisingly comfortable. I receive MFR on a weekly basis and look forward to working on new things when I don’t have aches and pains. I feel certain one day all of my aches and pains will be gone.”

Want to know more about me? Here are 10 fun facts…

1. I worked as a firefighter in my twenties.  One of my responsibilities was public education with children.  I was dressed as Sparky the dog.  I’m sure there are pictures out there somewhere still.

2. I always thought I would go to school to be an accountant.

3. Music is a great hobby of mine.  I play the violin, the piano, and I sing.  I enjoy them all, not necessarily in that order.

4. Many years ago, I lost my ability to sing.  It was like losing a part of myself.  Receiving myofascial release therapy allowed me to sing again.  Feeling whole is actually a thing.

5. I almost drowned three times in my youth, so I became a lifeguard in my late teens.

6. I used to road trip from state to state in my twenties, all before I had a cell phone.  Thank goodness with age comes wisdom… and experience.

7. I’m not a fan of washing dishes.  I would literally rather clean a toilet first.

8. I believe there  is something very reverent and amazing about doing myofascial release on an expectant mother and feeling her baby move under your hands.

9. I know the effects of MFR can be life altering.  I just didn’t know how much until it altered mine.

My journey of learning Myofascial Release techniques for Women’s Health began by having those techniques done on myself.  Because of that pelvic floor work, at 40 years old, I had my first no cramping, no bloating, no heavy bleeding, menstrual cycle; with regular cycles just like that to follow.

I also realized that I was able to hold my bladder for more than 6 hours with no urge to pee, instead of the every 15 minutes with urgency I had been experiencing for years.

10. Learning and using MFR therapy has empowered me to advocate for myself with doctors concerning my reproductive and pelvic health.  It has also given me the capacity to help other women advocate for their reproductive and pelvic health.

Takeaway message:  Myofascial Release can do amazing things with the body and create very unexpected results.
